Commission a portrait of your special furry friend.

I produce my portraits from your photographs. When I have finished working on the portrait design I transfer my work on to the computer so that I am able to email you the design before I start painting. This means that you can see exactly what the portrait will look like before I get my paint brushes out. It also means that you can view the portrait in various different colours and shapes - enabling you to choose the design.

Hand Painted Canvas

All my canvases are handmade to a very high quality.

I can only physically paint a limited number of canvases in a year so I would advise booking up well in advance of any birthday or Christmas presents. A 25% deposit books your slot on my waiting list. I am already booking up fast for 2010 so please secure your spot soon.

Deposit

A deposit of £50 or 25%, whichever is greater is required for all portraits. This deposit is refundable if you are not happy

with any of the portrait designs that I send you.

Choosing the photograph

As a general rule close up head shots are the best.

If you unsure of which photo you would like to use please feel free to send me a selection. I am happy for you to put lots of photos onto a disc and post them to me. The photos do not have to be large in size (standard 4" x 6" is fine) however it is important that they have a high resolution so that the detail that I need is there. If you are scanning photos please use a high resolution setting (300dpi or higher). Alternatively you can post your photographs to me, which I will return to you with your artwork.

It would also help if you told me a little about the character of your furry friend so that I can try to capture this in the design. For example, the dog above is my own dog who is very timid, which is why I have positioned her in the corner of the painting - she is not bold enough to take up center stage.

Please also let me know what colours, size, and shape you would like me to work in (I am happy to help with this if you are unsure).

Once we have agreed on the best photo to use in the portrait I will ask you for the deposit. This deposit is refundable if you are not happy with any of the designs that I email you. The balance for the portrait is due once you are totally happy with your portrait design.

Following some very successful exhibitions I currently have a fairly full order book. As I can only produce so many portraits in a year I would recommend ordering your portrait as early on as possible. Once you have paid your deposit your place in the waiting list is secure. If you need a portrait produced by a particular date please let me know and I will see if I can squeeze you in.

Additional copies of your portrait

If you want additional copies of your portrait for family and friends I am able to produce multiple paintings or prints at a reduced price.
